The holidays are just around the corner, and our audience is gearing up for a season full of gifting. To better understand what they plan to buy, and who they plan to buy for, we polled our readers about their gifting habits. Findings reveal that our readers celebrate holidays and milestones by shopping for loved ones, friends, family, acquaintances and even themselves. They’re on the hunt for quality products, consider price when making a major purchase and view Gear Patrol as a go-to resource for their gifting needs.

2022 Gifting Insights

1. Our audience is shopping earlier than ever.

The holiday shopping season is starting early this year with nearly 1 in 2 readers planning to conduct holiday shopping for friends, family and loved ones at least 1 month in advance.

2. But not all. There is a healthy group of readers who shop for holiday gifts less than one week in advance.

While most of our audience have already started shopping, 13% still purchase relatively last-minute, whether one week in advance, the day before, or the day of and they come to Gear Patrol to shop our last-minute gift guides.


3. They plan to spend about the same on holiday shopping in comparison to last year.

7. Top gifting occasions include birthdays, holidays, weddings, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day and just because.

10. Price, value and ratings & reviews are our audience’s top 3 considerations when making a purchase.
