Meet Jeni Arbuckle, Gear Patrol’s Newest Account Director

Introducing the newest member of our Partnerships team, Jeni Arbuckle, who joins us as an Account Director with a focus on Travel & Hospitality and CPG Food & Beverage. Jeni is a self-proclaimed 'Jill of all trades' when it comes to an active lifestyle and outdoor pursuits, so we sat down with her to chat about the gear she can’t live without, her off-roading adventures and more.

Q&A

Welcome to the team, Jeni! Tell us a little about yourself.

Hello, hello! I’m a native Iowan and lived in Austin in my 20’s before finding a home base in Colorado. In Denver, I take full advantage of the easy access to the mountains with after-work rides and weekend trips to camp and explore the Rocky mountain west.

What’s something that really excites you about joining the GP team?

This is a tough one - I’ve been impressed with so many things since starting in May! If I had to choose one, I would have to say the leadership style and GP's culture that flows from it. The culture both celebrates and fosters a growth-mindset, and I’ve been truly blown away by the level of intentionality, empathy, collaboration, humility, innovation and professionalism that my teammates show on a daily basis because of it.

You’re joining us with a fresh new perspective – what are some goals you have in mind?

Gear Patrol already has fantastic systems in place and some of the smartest, most professional people I’ve ever worked with. I’m excited to learn from my rockstar colleagues, while also sharing what I’ve learned working in the active-lifestyle media space over the last decade. Last but not least, I’m eager to leverage our team’s many strengths to create innovative and award-winning marketing programs for wonderful clients, and have fun doing it!

Share with us your favorite piece of gear and why you currently can't live without it!

My Tacoma that I built out last year (with the help of my partner and some friends!). After I finished the build, I took a 3-week trip starting in the Utah desert to mountain bike and ending in Flagstaff where I got my Wilderness First Responder cert through NOLS. I absolutely love having an off-road ready vehicle that’s fully capable of getting me up gnarly 4x4 roads and taking me to remote camping spots and less crowded trails — for Colorado living, it’s really the best!

What have you been up to outside of work? Any fun hobbies or projects that you’ve been working on?

I love doing any and all things that involve being active and outside — whether that’s mountain biking, SUPing, mountaineering, yoga or backcountry skiing, I’m a fan of it all! When I’m not in the mountains, I listen to an embarrassing amount of audiobooks, dabble in watercoloring, and grow veggies in my garden. I also do my best to keep my Spanish-speaking abilities fresh with a trip to Central and South America every year or two.
